In 2014, Slaight Music and The JUNO Awards teamed up to create a premier artist development program in Canada: The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class.

Now in its ninth year, The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class program serves as a bridge between two key pillars of The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS); Educate through our music education charity, MusiCounts and Celebrate through the annual JUNO Awards. This program opens the JUNO door to emerging artists so they can get exclusive access to tools to prepare themselves for the next step in their career.

The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class is a transformational and unique experience:

  • Your music is reviewed by JUNO Award-winning artists, producers and music industry professionals
  • Industry leaders and artists take part as mentors
  • Three artists and/or groups, alongside the winner of CBC’s Music Searchlight will participate in The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class developed in partnership with Canada’s Music Incubator (CMI)
  • Following mentorship week, artists will participate in Canada’s celebration of music during The 2024 JUNO Awards in Halifax, NS.

This program is the foundation for emerging artists who aspire to be JUNO Award nominees and winners in the years to come.
