The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class program serves as a bridge between the two key pillars of CARAS/The JUNO Awards; music education through MusiCounts and the celebration and promotion of excellence through The JUNO Awards. This program fills the gap between them by providing the crucial tools to help new and emerging artists become “JUNO ready.”
The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class is a transformational and unique experience:
CARAS Academy Delegate endorsement as a requirement for entrants
Your music is judged by JUNO Award-winning artists and producers
Industry leaders and artists take part as mentors
Three artists and/or groups, alongside the winner of CBC Searchlight, will be selected to participate in The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class, including a week-long mentorship program in Toronto.
A JUNO stage for the selected artists to shine
After the success of the 2018/19 Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class, submissions for 2019/20 will open on June 4, 2019, and close on June 28, 2019. The top 10 finalists will be notified at the beginning of August and the three selected artists will be revealed in September 2019. All applicants will be judged on the following criteria: brand, music, team, and potential for success.
Selected artists will attend JUNO Week and The 2020 JUNO Awards in Saskatoon, SK, where one artist(s) will be chosen to perform at The JUNO Gala Dinner and Awards on behalf of the 2019/2020 Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class artists.
This program is the foundation for emerging artists who aspire to be JUNO Award nominees and winners in the years to come.
